I know we have to advertise the Patreon, I promise I’m sympathetic to that, but at a certain point this all becomes rather hard to take seriously. Surely there’s a more elegant alternative to neon-pink starbursts?
i actually love the pink starbursts!! would much rather have these censored images that still reveals the subtle character interactions rather than entire scenes getting skipped 🙂

-Even though I own the site, I’m hosted through WordPress, who do not allow explicit material.
-If my site was marked as explicit, it would become completely inaccessible in a lot of the US and the UK due to censorship laws.
-If I made the site 18+, anyone who is under 18 and reads my comic would no longer be able to access the site at all.
-I’m in some webrings who do not allow 18+ content.
-Having explicit content would change how I can market and promote Sparks across other platforms.
-Sparks is my fulltime job and I share it completely for free, so I need some way to pay my bills, and paywalling the 18+ content has been the most reliable way to do that.
I appreciate you asking and wanted to give all the reasons for everyone who may have been wondering hahaha. I used to just ‘fade to black’ and completely remove these scenes from the free comic, but I think a lot of the character interaction in them is pretty vital to the overall story, so I’ve decided to change to this censored method.
I didn’t know letting us see how the characters act during sex and censoring it in a way that cutely references the title of the comic would be so controversial. But I thank you for it!
Personally I wouldn’t have the audacity to complain about nearly 900 free pages of a premium comic but I guess some people haven’t been told to shut up enough in life. Thanks for providing these, even if they have to be censored!
